The Jester Corps Teaching Philosophy

We are stronger working together as a community than we are working individually alone. Membership in Jester Corps means one corps, one voice, many cultures, boundless potential and a universe of possibilities.

Jester Corps is a "teacher driven and student focused" community.

Jester Drum & Bugle Corps, as it relates to the performing unit proper is founded upon the belief that teaching, instructing, and mentoring are some of the most admirable responsibilities that capture the human interpersonal dynamic like no other.

To be "teacher driven" means addressing the needs of our members will be the first order of business on every Jester Corps agenda. We exist to support the corps membership, not for the membership to support the organization. The Jester Corps teaching staff is very devoted to the entire membership and all members receive our full attention as often as it is needed and required.

Our teachers and instructors are passionately engaged in the art and science of proper instruction while pursuing excellence with a relentless zeal to get it right. To be "student focused" means that the members of Jester Drum & Bugle Corps represent our primary command center. Everything we do revolves around the needs of our members as a primary means of communication, organization, development, and strategic planning.

We teach, train, practice, rehearse, and perform alike because of an inner conviction, not an external compulsion.

The learning process is largely reciprocal. The Jester Corps system is a teaching and learning experience that encourages a symbiotic relationship among all teachers, instructors, members, and support staff.

The Jester Corps system is extremely successful and continues to capture the attention of music educators, young adults, and drum corps fans throughout the United States and Canada. We are very proud of our legacy and invite you to become involved in one of the most successful new drum corps in North America.
